4 Things to Do at PGA National Resort & Spa

Stacie Ahee

The PGA National Resort and Spa brings all the best of Palm Beach luxury living together within one facility. If you’re considering PGA national real estate, explore these five amenities at the National Resort and Spa.

Golfing greens

No visit to the PGA National Resort is complete without a round (or two) of golf. Home to six courses, PGA National is considered one of Florida's best golf training facilities. Want to swing like the pros? Take your clubs over to The Champion or The Palmer. Each course is a par 72, and two new courses, The Match and The Staple, are now available for rounds.

PGA National offers several golf packages for you to choose from, including the Game Changer package that brings you three rounds of golf across two days. The first round is on the Match course, the second on the Staple course, and you get to pick the third. For families wanting to up their game, the Leadbetter Family Golf package includes three hours of lessons per day, a daily round of golf, and a grab-and-go breakfast.

If you’re planning on purchasing one of the PGA national luxury condos, the Resort offers a golf membership that ranges from golf-only options to memberships that cover all amenities, including the Sports and Racquet Club.

The PGA National Sports and Racquet Club

As a PGA member or national resort guest, you’ll have access to the 33,000-square-foot PGA Sports and Racquet Club. Home to multiple sports venues, training facilities, and even a space for lawn croquet, this is the place to get fit if you’re investing in PGA national real estate. Check out a few of the club’s best amenities:

Lap and mineral pools

Get your laps in at the five-lane indoor lap pool. Its refreshing saltwater is gentler on your skin than traditional chlorine. Or, if you’re ready to relax, take a dip in the resort’s outdoor mineral pools. There’s a zero-entry outdoor pool that eases into the shallow end, offering a great place to relax while the kids splash around.

Tennis courts

Tennis is a member favorite at the PGA Sports and Racquet Club, which has 19 full courts for your use. Want to play after hours? Twelve of the courts are lit at night, or you can bring your game indoors for a round of racquetball or handball.

If you need new gear, check out the Tennis Pro Shop, which offers brands from Nike to Polo to Oakley. Once you’re geared up, take a lesson from a number of USPTA-certified professionals. The Club also offers league play, including adult and senior teams, round-robin style tournaments, and other leagues.

Weight training facilities

On the first floor, find an expansive weight lifting area for those who prefer to create their own workouts. If you want some guidance, there are multiple nationally certified personal trainers who can provide fitness evaluations and create an individual plan for you to meet your workout goals. Want to improve your heart health? They’ll assess your cardiovascular fitness. Want to get stronger? They’ll tailor a workout plan to your current level and ability.

Spin and cardio rooms

Choose from a number of cardio machines on the first floor of the Club. With more than ten treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, you can get your sweat on without having to fight for a spot. You’ll also find the spin studio and two training rooms, where you can practice boxing or TRX. Upstairs, you’ll find two additional studios that host over 70 classes each week. Try your hand at Zumba or yoga. For more intense workouts, take on the Sports Intervals class. For something gentler, try the Sit and Be Fitclass. Cardio and dance classes are member favorites, but you can find whatever suits your body best in the spin and cardio studios.

Gardens, preserves, and ecological tours

If you’re considering investing in PGA national luxury condos, you know the beach is one of the biggest advantages of living here. But did you know that Palm Beach is also home to stunning gardens and nature preserves?

The Blowing Rocks Preserve is a local favorite with swimming and snorkeling spots, as well as 73 acres to explore and encounter rare wildlife and plants. For a more leisurely day, visit Juno Beach Park and Fishing Pier. With designated swimming areas and a nearly 1,000-foot pier, Juno Beach Park has something for everyone in the family. Need more bait? Visit their bait and tackle shop. Or grab a bite at their well-stocked snack bar.

If you have kids, check out Burt Reynolds Park, a waterfront playground with boat ramps and picnic areas. They also have a beach volleyball court and a spot to play horseshoes. If you’re licensed to fish, bring your reels and cast off the docks.

To explore your wild side, the West Palm Beach Airboat Rides provide private trips around the Everglades and are located only 45 minutes from the resort. Or drive 20 minutes to the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary to see rehabilitated Florida wildlife or hike one of their nature trails. The Grassy Waters Preserve is about 15 minutes away — it’s a 23-square-mile wetland where you can explore trails, learn more about the Florida ecosystem, or even volunteer.

The PGA National Spa

Currently undergoing renovation, the all-new, 40,000-square-foot spa is set to reopen in 2022. The spa has been known to offer more than 100 services, so you can expect everything from facials, manicures, and skin treatments to the very best in skin and hair care products. Unwind with a pedicure, get your hair done in the salon for a night on the town or visit the steam room after a long workout.
